Putting It Together is a musical revue showcasing the songs of Stephen Sondheim. Drawing its title from a song in Sunday in the Park With George, it celebrates Sondheim's incomparable career in musical theatre.

Featuring nearly 30 Sondheim tunes, Putting It Together, takes place in a Manhattan penthouse party being thrown by an older couple, with the attendance by a younger couple and an observer. With a bit of imagination, the guests transform the apartment into the stage of an abandoned theatre, an estate in Sweden, an island outside of Paris, a street off the Roman Forum, the woods of a fairy tale, and a mythical town in the Southwest.

"[Rachel] Hirshee is terrific as the up and comer with 'Sooner or Later' and 'More' simply sizzling. A winning performance!"

Steven Stanley of StageSceneLA raves...

"WOW!"

"The dynamic, velvet-voiced [Kurt Andrew] Hansen once again shows off the Sondheim prowess he revealed in his Best Actor Scenie-winning performance as the titular Demon Barber Of Fleet Street, aka Sweeney Todd, his 'Good Thing Going' a particular standout."

"Saving best for last, this past year's Scenie-winning Director/Star Of The Year [Kristin] Towers-Rowles once again takes your breath away in quite possibly her boldest, most richly-shaded performance to date. Diehard Sondheim fans have surely heard 'Could I Leave You,' 'The Ladies Who Lunch,' and 'Getting Married Today' more times than they could count, but Towers-Rowles' daring choices (and sensational pipes) make it feel almost like hearing them for the first time.

It takes talent and guts to perform any Stephen Sondheim song, let alone two-and-a-half dozen of them in under two hours, but talent and guts the Chromolume Theatre cast possesses in spade.

Putting It Together is L.A. musical theater at its most marvelously performed, and that is Putting It Mildly indeed.

Leo Buck of Buck-Ing Trends raves...

"Chromolume Theatre's sondheim revue 'Putting It Together' expertly shows how you make a work of art!"

'Putting It Together' is a superb primer featuring the Song-smith's most iconic show-tunes (and then some) as well as a number of his lesser known ones, providing both seasoned 'Sondheim' aficionados and complete novices to his art alike, with a thrillingly witty and entertaining time."

"Each of the five-member cast possesses a fantastic voice paired with the outstanding ability to interpret the frequently intricate sentiments that match such sophisticated note-phrases and chord-structures."

"Rachel Hirshee as the 'Would-Be Starlet' (Woman 2) makes a fine ingenue—gifted with sharp comic timing as well as a spot-on ability to express sensitivity where need be that underlies all that coquettish sex appeal."

"Chris Kerrigan is another charismatic vocal powerhouse as the 'Composer-Actor'."

"the most dazzling group triumph which boasts some incredible harmony is definitely their collective rendition of Sondheim's unforgettable "Being Alive" from 'Company'."

"Cate Caplin's direction and choreography themselves are forces to be reckoned with."

"[Kurt Andrew] Hansen and [Kristin] Toiwers'-Rowles' so wonderful as the older married couple loving, fighting, negotiating."
